$421,912 funded to 30 grantees

$421,912 was distributed in 2026 to 30 grantees, including eight local Nations and 22 Indigenous-led and Indigenous-serving organizations through the Indigenous Priorities Fund.

With deep knowledge of community needs, the Indigenous advisory shaped a new granting process, completed application reviews and made granting recommendations for the Indigenous Priorities Fund Pilot program from 2022-2024. While we work to expand our Indigenous-led granting program, we have provided annual top-up funding to the pilot grantees in the interim, in keeping with the Advisory's recommendations.

Grant recipients, 2026

To date, the Indigenous Priorities Fund has funded $2,026,493 to 30 grantees including eight local Nations and 22 Indigenous-led and Indigenous-serving organizations.

Granting priority was given to the following applications (in this order):

1. Nations
2. Indigenous-led organizations
3. Organizations that are not Indigenous led but that offer Indigenous-serving programs

Applicants were all based within the capital region and the benefits of their initiatives all serve Indigenous people living in this region. Please review this map.
