Vital People: Grant helps spread knowledge of art history

After 21 years, the Vancouver Island School of Art says it isn’t going anywhere.
“I just signed a 10-year lease, so we’re in it for the long haul,” executive director Wendy Welch said with a laugh.
Helping with that commitment is the Victoria Foundation, which gave the school a $12,000 grant for art sessions focusing on the influence of contemporary and historical women artists.
